There was a time in the history of this country when we sent our best and brightest to Washington to uphold our Constitution. Today I'm left to ponder the question, is Barak Hussein Obama the best this country has to offer? I know very little about this man who has been elected to our highest office. In order for me to consider him the best man for the job, I would certainly have liked to have had a glance at his resume. Even one of his biggest supporters, Tom Brokaw admits that all we have to go by are the books he has written about himself. But where are the lists of accomplishments upon which I can build my trust in this man and believe that he has the ability to lead the free world? I only know that he was a community organizer on the South side of Chicago, which I understand he did not leave any better than he found it. Where are his character references? Every quality resume needs referrals. The only leaders with whom he associated in the past, and who could offer their opinion, have been ostrasized from his record. So perhaps I could have a look at his accomplishments in college, maybe some outstanding paper he has written, or some project which had set him apart from the crowd. Sadly I have yet to see any evidence of such work from his college years. However, I know that he is Ivy League. I may be just an ordinary American, but even I know that you must have a sponsor or someone to reccomend you before you are allowed to walk those hallowed halls. I'm sure that this young man has simply forgot to include this information on his resume. Perhaps our reliable 4th branch of government, our ever inquisitive free press, had this newsworthy data, but they, in all their excitement simply forgot to publish it.
So here I sit on the day after the election and am left to wonder just who is this man which I have been made to hire without a resume. But what do I know, I was hoping to hire people next year for my small business and I had the silly notion that the prospective employees would need to show me some proof of ability, because I wanted to hire the best person for the job. I had even considered asking them for proof of citizenship. What could I have been thinking? That's no way to run a business, and certainly not a country.
